Your primary care physician (PCP)
is the doctor you see regularly for check-ups or general health inquiries. Your PCP takes your extensive medical and family history and because he works with you on a regular basis, understands other aspects of your health that are not as easily quantified on a chart.
If it is determined during your visit that you may need to be referred to a specialist, we will schedule an appointment for you. Your insurance plan may dictate the list of specialists provided to you. In cases when you have insurance through an HMO, an appointment with a family doctor or PCP may be necessary before you can see a specialist.
